Don Crim is a founder and partner and has over 40 years of experience in technical manufacturing, mostly in the microelectronics industry. The past few years he has consulted in a variety of other industries from sporting goods, industrial tire manufacturing and flat panel displays.
In his early years he focused on research and development and process engineering of many of the processes used to manufacture semiconductor microelectronics. He was instrumental in developing processes used to manufacture products in MNOS, NMOS, PMOS, and CMOS technologies. These processes were used to manufacture a variety of products such as application specific products (custom), calculators, memory products, video games, programmable logic, and microprocessors. Throughout his career he developed and transferred process engineering technology to various locations in the USA, Europe, and Asia.
For more than 20 years he managed large manufacturing operations for a number of companies such as Motorola Electronics, American Microsystems (AMI), National Semiconductor, Silicon Systems, Teccor Electronics, and Pixtech Inc. Revenue derived from these operations ranged from a low of $30 million to over $400 million.
Mr. Crim has served in many of these companies progressively as Engineering Manager, Managing Director, Vice President of Operations, and Sr. Vice President of Manufacturing and Process Technology Development.
He has overseen the construction of a number of complex manufacturing facilities, and the implementation of ISO 9000 certifications and process controls for complex manufacturing processing.
